For 22 years, PIE has dedicated itself to raising funds and providing financial support for grades K-8 in the Rockford School District. With many volunteers and countless hours, they have made a tremendous impact. Effective with the 2014-15 school year, Partners in Education (PIE) will cease to exist, but the ideas and love for education that PIE brought will continue.
The Rockford Education Foundation will now work to deliver the same or similar educational support of Partners in Education. The Foundation is excited to welcome to its board and volunteer roster many people who were so passionate about Partners in Education! Beginning this school year, the Foundation will be the group supporting some of the well-known fundraisers (catalog fundraiser and carnival) formerly organized by PIE.
The goal remains the same and a robust structure will benefit all:
- Larger volunteer base
- Streamlined process
- More opportunities for tax-deduction donations
