How we started
In 2004, community leaders began exploring ideas to make the Rockford Area Schools educational programs viable to continue and grow in learning opportunities for the area children. The Foundation received three key donations which laid the groundworks to build upon. The gifts of $25,000 from the Francis family, $30,000 from the Cates family and $5,000 from the Rockford Lions Club, purchased a computer lab, items for the gifted and talented program and many textbooks.
