Programs

The Rockford Education Foundation supports small and large programs that are needed through out the district in all three schools.  Below are some of the programs we have supported or are working on:

PROJECT LEAD THE WAY
Rockford High School offers a rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) curricular program, called Project Lead the Way.

Currently RHS offers Introduction to Engineering Design. This hands-on, project-based engineering course engage students on multiple levels, expose them to areas of study that they typically do not pursue, and provide them with a foundation and proven path to college and career success. Classroom equipment, such as computer software and kits for hands-on activities, along with required teacher training, are the main costs related to the program.

The Rockford Education Foundation provided funding for 20 new computers and the necessary software applications required to deliver this new opportunity for our students. With planning from Rockford Area Schools Technology Support Team, 34 computers were able to be built for the program! For more information on Project Lead the Way, go to www.pltw.org.

AGRICULTURE
Farming and agriculture is supported through the Foundation’s Caroll Hall Agriculture Fund!  This fund started in March of 2015 by the Caroll Hall family.  This memorial fund has already funded 20 FFA jackets!
