Did you always want to be a teacher?
Both of my parents are teachers and I loved watching them teach. I knew that was what I wanted to do
How many years have you been a teacher?
Started coaching in 1981
40 years teaching (started teaching in 1986)
30 years at Rockford Area Schools (1996)
What grade(s) or ages have you taught throughout your career?
Started teaching 4th grade then PE
What do you look most forward to everyday at Rockford?
Knowing the kids and their families and knowing they care about me as much as I care about them.
What is one of your most memorable moments in your career?
Yearly memories made when we pull out the Obstacle Course and the kids are so excited that this is the week! Getting my masters with a group of teachers I loved working with.
What advice would you give a brand new teacher?
Its hard don’t let anyone fool you! and no we don’t get paid for summer time off.
What will you miss most about teaching in Rockford?
Of course Aaron! (and weekly texts to Cheryl to answer my questions! thank you!!) and the hugs from the kiddos.

Have 5 children from ages 43-27 also have 8 grand GIRLS!
What are your plans when you retire?
I gutted a boat and will start with electrical and gears and paint and make it MY boat.
