To support and enhance education, maximize students’ potential and inspire the community.
Since 2004, the Rockford Education Foundation (REF) has been dedicated to enriching the educational experience for all students in the Rockford Area Schools. Our mission is to support and enhance education, maximize students’ potential, and inspire the community by funding innovative programs, resources, and opportunities for PreK-12th grade learners.
As an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, REF operates separately from ISD 883 Public Schools and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. We serve as a vital conduit between the school district and donors who wish to invest in the future of education.
How We Make an Impact
REF provides funding for:
✅ Cutting-edge technology and classroom resources
✅ Unique learning experiences and field trips
✅ Creative and innovative academic programs
✅ Mini-grants that enhance curriculum and instruction
How You Can Help
REF relies entirely on community support to fund these opportunities, including contributions from:
🔹 Parents & Community Members – Every donation makes a difference!
🔹 Corporate Contributions – Partnering with local businesses to invest in education.
🔹 Fundraising Events & Projects – Annual events that bring our community together.
🔹 Gifts of Stock, Cash & Securities – Providing long-term support for student success.
