RMS-CES Media Center Renovation (2022-23)

FINANCIAL GOAL: $50,000

EXPECTED TIMING: Renovations over summer 2023

ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
The Rockford Education Foundation is raising funds to transform the library into a modern media center. This project will create a modern, flexible, learning environment for the changing needs of middle school students. The space will be reconfigurable to accommodate both small groups, classrooms, and quiet spaces for students. The addition of high top tables will promote collaboration as students work together to solve inquiry based problems. The manipulatives offer students the opportunity to explore problem solving during both formal classroom instruction and individual exploratory activities. as we meet the needs of our students, staff and community. This will create opportunities for STEM enrichment opportunities that currently do not exist. We hope that this addition is an inviting space for both students and staff that will enhance the RMS-CES experience.

RHS Portable Sound System & Event Support (2022-23)

FINANCIAL GOAL: $25,000

GOAL OF THIS PROJECT:
Eliminate annual expensive rental of equipment and have access to a quality sound system that can be enjoyed all year round that is available for events across all 3 campuses.

Benefits of a new sound system:
• Equipment that delivers quality sound
• Useful for both indoor and outdoor performances
• Expands the number of wireless microphones that can be used
• Wireless headset system for backstage, concert, graduation coordination

Events this will benefit:
• Band Concerts / Pepfests
• Choir Concerts
• Musicals
• Graduations

Benefits to Band: This would benefit any performance that is not in our auditorium.  Performances in the field house, HS gymnasium, HS commons, and any outdoor performance would benefit from this.

Benefits to the Musical – If the system is designed to piggyback on existing sound system, this could benefit the Musical Theater program by expanding the number of available wireless microphones that can be utilized.

Benefits to Choir – This could benefit the choirs for an outdoor performance as well as other performances around the three campuses. This could also support future concerts at different locations.

Vendor comment from Career Fair – “The music and activity of the students and vendors was great, but when the principal made an announcement, I couldn’t hear a thing!”

“Our students and teachers try their hardest to deliver quality, excellent performances in arts, athletics, and community-based presentations. We also gather to celebrate some of the biggest accomplishments in our students’ young lives: awards, banquets, and graduation. We need to match their level of excellence with our technical equipment and support.” -Mr. Menard
