Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Crystal, MN, and have lived in MN all my life.
Where did you attend college?
I went back to college when my own kids were in high school at the College of St. Catherine’s for my Bachelor’s Degree.
I received my Master’s Degree in education from St. Kate’s as well.
Did you always want to be a teacher?
I always wanted to be a teacher and teach third grade. I spent hours teaching pretend students when I was growing up.
How many years have you been a teacher?
I have taught 19 years – all of them at Rockford.
What grade(s) or ages have you taught throughout your career?
I taught one year of kindergarten, one year of first grade, and the rest of the time teaching in third grade.
What will you miss most about teaching in Rockford?
I will miss having fun with the students, and watching them learn and mature; and working with my colleagues.
What are your plans when you retire?
I plan to spend more time with family, especially our grandchildren (I am already getting babysitting requests…) I want to take some classes, train our Cavaliers, garden, read, work on projects, vacation (three already planned)….and that is just a few things on my list!
